iPhone 17 in Nepal: the price is lower, but check the storage

The iPhone 17's 256GB version now has a published Nepal price of NPR 164,999 in GadgetByte's guide. Its previous listed price was NPR 173,499. That is worth noticing if you were already planning to buy this model, but a lower price alone does not settle whether it is the right phone for you.

This guide checks the reported price against the phone's actual features and explains the storage choice. Prices were checked on 13 October 2026. They are published Nepal reference prices, not a NikoDeal quotation or a promise that a colour or variant is in stock.

The Nepal price to use as a reference

GadgetByte lists the iPhone 17 256GB at NPR 164,999 and the 512GB at NPR 215,699. The reported reduction applies to the 256GB model; the larger version remains at the price shown in its guide.

TechLekh's headline summary also reports NPR 164,999 for the 256GB version. However, some figures inside its article disagree with its own summary. For that reason, the table here follows GadgetByte rather than mixing numbers from different parts of different pages. Get a written final quote for the exact version before paying.

There is no claim here that this price changed today. News pages can show a relative publication time and an older update date together. The useful point for a buyer is the amount currently reported and the date it was checked.

What you get beyond the model name

Apple lists a 6.3-inch OLED display with ProMotion, which supports adaptive refresh rates up to 120Hz. The phone also has an Always-On display and the A19 chip. These are manufacturer specifications, not results from a NikoDeal hands-on test.

The camera system includes a 48MP main camera and a 48MP ultrawide camera. Apple describes a 2x option enabled by the main camera, while the front camera is an 18MP Center Stage camera. A 2x option should not be mistaken for a separate long-range telephoto lens. If distant subjects are a big part of your photography, look at the actual lens options rather than buying on megapixels alone.

It is worth separating features from promises. A 120Hz maximum does not mean every app or game always runs at 120 frames per second. Camera specifications do not tell you exactly how your evening portraits will look. When possible, compare sample photos from the kinds of scenes you actually shoot.

Is 256GB enough, or should you pay for 512GB?

Start with your current phone, not the more expensive box. Look at how much storage you use now and which files fill it. Someone who mainly keeps messages, everyday photos and a modest set of apps has a different requirement from someone who saves long videos and a large offline media collection.

If your current phone is already close to 256GB used, take that seriously. Decide what you are willing to delete or move before choosing the smaller model. If you use much less, ask whether doubling the capacity solves a real problem. Paying for space you are unlikely to use is money that could stay in your budget.

Cloud storage can be part of a plan, but do not treat it as a free substitute for local storage. Check the service's actual price, your upload connection and whether you need files while offline. Neither storage version changes the screen or camera specifications listed above.

Check the charging setup, not a freebie headline

Apple says the iPhone 17 box contains the phone and a USB-C charge cable, not a power adapter. A Nepal retailer or distributor may advertise a separate bundle, but that is different from what Apple includes in the box. Confirm the contents of the specific offer you are buying.

Apple's fast-charging guidance lists a 40W-or-higher USB-C power adapter for the iPhone 17 to reach up to 50 percent charge in around 20 minutes under its test conditions. That is a test claim, not a guarantee for every temperature, battery level or charging setup. Ask which adapter and cable are being supplied instead of assuming that any charger gives the same result.

Before you order from Dhangadhi

Use the NikoDeal catalog to check current listings, then confirm the exact model, storage, colour and final price with the store. If the version you want is not listed, ask about it rather than treating this article as stock confirmation.

Get the invoice details, warranty coverage, included accessories and any delivery charge in writing. Do not assume that a nationwide distributor offer automatically applies to every seller or every unit. For a gift, also check the recipient's storage needs and existing charging setup.

The 256GB version is the first one to compare if the reported price reduction brought the iPhone 17 within your planned budget. The 512GB version makes more sense when you have a clear storage need. Neither is an automatic upgrade recommendation: a working phone that still meets your needs does not become inadequate because a newer one costs less.
