CMF Speaker S and M Launch: What Nepal Buyers Should Know
CMF has entered portable audio with the Speaker S and Speaker M. The launch brings two sizes, physical controls and a different approach to portable-speaker design. For Nepal buyers, though, the first distinction is between an international announcement and a product with a confirmed local price.
GadgetByte Nepal reported the launch on October 13,2026. We checked its report against Nothing's official speaker pages on October 14. Those sources describe the products, but they do not establish a NikoDeal listing or a confirmed Nepal launch. This article is launch news and a feature comparison, not a listening review.
Nepal price: no confirmed local quote yet
GadgetByte reports international starting prices of US$59 for Speaker S and US$109 for Speaker M. These are foreign-market figures, not Nepal retail prices. We are deliberately not converting them into rupees and presenting the result as a local selling price.
A Nepal quote would need the actual model, seller, import arrangements and applicable local service terms. Until those details are confirmed, an expected-price table is not a buying offer. If you see either speaker advertised locally, ask for the final quote and check what after-sales support applies to that particular unit.
Speaker S: the smaller option
Nothing lists a 45 mm full-range driver, two passive radiators and 10W RMS output for Speaker S. Its listed weight is 334 grams. That makes it the more compact choice of the pair for someone who wants to carry a speaker between rooms or pack it in a bag.
The specification does not prove how it sounds. Driver size, tuning, placement and the room all affect what you hear. A compact speaker can be convenient without replacing a larger setup. If you mainly listen at a desk, audition speech and music at a comfortable volume instead of deciding from the wattage alone.
Speaker M: more hardware, more weight
Speaker M pairs a 70 mm woofer with a 16 mm tweeter. Nothing specifies 25W for the woofer and 10W for the tweeter, giving 35W RMS combined output. It weighs 602 grams and has a carrying handle.
The larger model has separate drivers handling different parts of the audio range. That is a real hardware difference, but it is not a tested claim that the M sounds better in every situation. Listen for clear vocals and whether the bass overwhelms quieter details. Consider where you will place it, not only how loud the specification suggests it might go.
Physical controls and connection options
Both products have a control knob and dedicated controls for power, Bluetooth and Auracast. The removable front panel and knob are part of the design. Nothing also lists Bluetooth 6.0, USB-C audio and Nothing X app support.
USB-C audio is worth checking if you plan to use the speaker at a computer. Make sure the source and cable support the intended audio connection; a connector's shape alone does not answer that question. Likewise, a newer Bluetooth version does not guarantee that every feature works with every phone or laptop.
Stereo Mode and Party Mode are different. GadgetByte reports that stereo requires two identical models: two S units or two M units, not one of each. Auracast Party Mode is intended to link compatible speakers for wider coverage. Check the exact pairing instructions before buying a second unit for a particular setup.
Treat 18-hour playback as a test result
Nothing advertises up to 18 hours of playback for both models. Its test conditions include 50%volume, AAC playback, Balance EQ and Ultra Bass enabled. The company explicitly says actual battery life varies with volume, content, wireless conditions and other factors.
That means 18 hours is not a promise for a loud outdoor gathering. The IP68 rating also comes with laboratory limits and warnings. Resistance can change with wear or damage. Do not intentionally immerse the speaker or treat a rating as blanket protection against water damage.
What to wait for before buying in Nepal
The S looks more relevant when compact size is the priority. The M offers a different driver arrangement and higher rated output for buyers comfortable with the extra weight. Neither conclusion replaces a listening test.
For Nepal, the missing step is a confirmed local offer. Wait for an actual selling price, the precise model and clear service terms. That is more useful than comparing a converted foreign price with another speaker's real Nepal shop price.
