iPad 11 (A16) Festival Offer in Nepal: A Small Discount After a Big Climb
Festival-season banners are advertising a discount on the iPad 11 (A16) in Nepal, and the offer is real. What the banners do not say is that the tablet's price climbed twice this year before the discount arrived, so the "deal" needs a little arithmetic before it looks like one. Here are the checks worth running before buying Apple's entry iPad this Dashain.
The price ladder, verified
TechLekh's price tracker tells the full story. The iPad 11th Gen launched in Nepal at Rs 65,000 for the 128GB Wi-Fi model, rose to Rs 72,500, and after a second hike now officially sits at Rs 88,000, with the 256GB at Rs 106,500 and the 512GB at Rs 145,000. GadgetByte's festival listing shows an offer price of NPR 86,000 for the 128GB Wi-Fi variant through its partner store, with a free third-party magnetic stylus and a one-year extended warranty included.
So the festival discount on the base model is Rs 2,000 off the hiked price. Measured against the launch price, the same tablet still costs Rs 21,000 more than it did earlier this year.
Check 1: Compare against the price history, not the banner
This is the single most useful habit for festival shopping in Nepal: an "offer" price is only a deal relative to what the product actually sold for recently. On the iPad 11, the honest framing is that Apple raised prices across its lineup, and the festival promotion trims a small amount back off. If you need an iPad now, Rs 86,000 with extras is currently the best verified price. If you are buying because a banner made it feel urgent, know that you are paying near the tablet's highest-ever Nepal price, not its lowest.
Check 2: Price the freebies at what they are worth to you
The bundled extras change the math only if you would have bought them anyway. A free stylus is useful for note-taking students, but it is a third-party pen, not an Apple Pencil, so do not value it at Apple Pencil prices. The one-year extended warranty is worth more, but only after you read its terms: ask what it covers, who honors it, and how a claim is made, and get the answers in writing. A freebie you cannot claim is worth zero.
Check 3: Choose storage once, because there is no upgrade path
Apple's official specifications confirm the iPad 11 (A16) starts at 128GB with no memory card slot, so the storage you buy is the storage you keep. For streaming, browsing, and schoolwork, 128GB is enough. For large photo libraries, offline video, or big games, 256GB is the safer pick, though the jump to Rs 106,500 is steep. The 512GB tier, at Rs 145,000, only makes sense for genuinely heavy local storage needs. Note that accessories are not included: TechLekh lists the Keyboard Folio at Rs 53,000 and the Apple Pencil USB-C at Rs 17,000, so budget the real total, not the tablet price alone.
Check 4: Know what the A16 iPad does not do
The modified A16 chip in this iPad is quick for everyday tasks and gaming, but GadgetByte's review notes this model does not support Apple Intelligence, and the 10.86-inch Liquid Retina display runs at a standard 60Hz refresh rate. If AI features or a high-refresh screen matter to you, this is the wrong iPad, and competing tablets at lower prices offer smoother displays. If you want a reliable, long-supported tablet for study, media, and light work, the iPad 11 remains the safe default in Nepal, especially at a verified offer price from an authorized channel with a proper VAT bill.
The bottom line
The festival offer is genuine but modest: Rs 2,000 off a price that had just climbed sharply. Buy it because the iPad 11 fits your needs and the current Rs 86,000 bundle is the best verified deal, not because the season says hurry. And whichever shop you choose, confirm the variant in stock, collect a VAT bill, and read the extended-warranty terms before you pay.
